Twilight

By: Stephenie Meyer

Twilight is Meyer's debut novel...but you would never guess it. This novel has been called a "romance-horror-comedy-action" novel, and it has it ALL. Bella and Edward are the quintessence of the Shakespearian phrase "star-crossed lovers". And as Shakespeare knew, love burns high when thwarted by obstacles. Bella simply adores beautiful Edward, even though one very big obstacle stands in the way of their happiness. Edward is a vampire -- and a part of him so dominantly thirsts for Bella's blood that at any given moment the intensity of their passion could drive him to kill her, and he agonizes over the danger. But Bella would rater be dead than part from Edward, so she risks her life to stay with him, and the novel burns with intensity and tension of their dangerous and emotional relationship. Meyer's series instantly captivated me, and I completed all three of the 500 page books that make up the series in about a week. These novels give meaning to the phrase "a book you can't put down." You will immediately be captivated by Meyer's stunning gothic romance, Twilight.

Twilight Series includes New Moon and Eclipse, and be sure to look for Meyer's new science-fiction novel, The Host, coming out May 2008.
